Bonus attractions deal with Cape Schank Lightstation stay*

The Mornington Peninsula’s 1859 Cape Schanck Lightstation is offering a special autumn deal: stay for three nights in an historic lighthouse keeper’s cottage and receive a free Mornington Peninsula Attractions Pass, which includes entrance to four top local attractions plus bonus offers.

Cape Schanck Lightstation is one of Australia’s oldest, and its huge light is one of the few still operating as it did in the 1800s. Stories of shipwrecks, ghosts, bushrangers and duelling early settlers abound, and there are many spectacular clifftop and beach walks nearby.

Accommodation features three self-contained cottages (the earliest dating from 1887) within the lightstation grounds, priced from $150 per person twin-share for three nights, including a free Mornington Peninsula Attractions Pass. The offer is valid until 1 September but excludes public holidays and Saturday nights.

The pass normally costs $55 per adult and carries more than $80 of full retail value. It includes free entrance to Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens, Cape Schanck Lighthouse, Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park and Peninsula Hot Springs. Extras include a fragrant lavender gift at Ashcombe Maze, a tour of Cape Schanck Lighthouse and entry to its museum, and a “koala cuddle” at Moonlit Sanctuary.

Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm, Box Stallion Winery and Rye Hotel all have a 10 per cent discount offer for pass holders.

To get right up close to wallabies and their joeys in the bush, visit Moonlit Sanctuary where there are currently about 80 wallabies and 20 joeys in 10 hectares of natural bushland. Many are very tame, and will bound up to be fed by hand.

Moonlit Sanctuary, which is home to a number of endangered species, also invites visitors to enjoy hands-on encounters with friendly sugar gliders, pythons and dingos.

For $12, Attractions Pass holders can upgrade to Moonlit Sanctuary’s lantern-lit tours which feature nocturnal birds, tiny feathertail gliders and giant yellow-bellied gliders, and endangered quolls, pademelons and bettongs foraging for food.

To book accommodation at Cape Schanck call 1300 885 259 and quote the 3-night Attractions Pass autumn deal. For more information on the Mornington Peninsula Attractions Pass, visit www.emmp.net.au.
