Ann Rickard’s Mediterranean frolic

I’ll start this book review with a disclosure. Ann Rickard is a good friend and a regular contributor to Oz Baby Boomers.

She is also a talented, perceptive and humorous writer who has now penned six books: Not Another Book about Italy, The Last Book about Italy, Not Another Greek Salad, Flash and Brash with Fries on the Side, Ooh La La! A French Romp, and, her latest, Three in a Bed in the Med.

So far I’ve only had a chance to browse Three in a Bed in the Med, but I can already thoroughly recommend it to anyone travelling to southern France, Italy and/or Greece, and to anyone just interested in a jaunty, sometimes saucy read.

This isn’t your dry old Lonely Planet Guide, bursting with maps, facts and figures — though figures of the voluptuous variety certainly play a significant role.

Three in a Bed in the Med is a take-everything-in-your-stride stroll through the passionate highs of delectable food in dreamy locations and through cockroach-infested lows.

Add the potential wedge being driven between Ann and her long-suffering husband Geoffrey by the busty, extremely flirtatious Amanda, and you have a quite titillating thriller as well.
