POSTED: 07 OCTOBER 2010 Free party to launch Now Now Festival* The 10th annual Now Now Festival of Spontaneous Music will hold its free launch party from 7pm on 16 December at the Red Rattler, 6 Faversham Street, Marrickville. The festival, which boasts a slew of international music icons as well as stars and mad geniuses of the Australian music scene, will be held at three inner-western Sydney venues from the 2128 January. Electronic soundscape artists Swill, percussion legend Robbie Avenaim, multimedia artists HU (Aaron Hull and Greg Hughes) and the hard-knocking exponents of the style-free movement Prophets will feature in the free launch-party gig where the full festival program will be released. There will be mixtape-CDs to giveaway on the night a sampler of some of the festival artists and advance three-day and six-day passes will be available at early-bird rates. Plus there’ll heaps of cool merchandise and the chance to rub shoulders with the coolest in-crowd of the music world. The Now Now is returning to Sydney after three years in the Blue Mountains. Featured artists include Yan Jun from China, Brisbane's Sky Needle, Roil, Tassie's Untermorast, Magda Mayas from Germany, Argentina's Alan Courtis, Scandinavian band The Thing, plus Jim Denley +Chris Abrahams.
