Nãzanin: multi-talented, multi-lingual and set for world-music stardom*

Nãzanin’s charisma, ambition and dedication to her art constitute a force set to take this talented young singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist to new world-music heights, both locally and internationally.

Speaking — and singing — in English, Greek and Persian, Nãzanin found her passion for music at an early age. She began singing at the age of two and had written her first song by fourteen.

Ballet, keyboard, guitar and vocal studies followed, and at 19 her song Emotions won the Best Song of the Year at the music awards ceremony held by her arts college.

Nãzanin continued her musical journey through further studies and acquired a Diploma in Contemporary Music and Advanced Diploma in Music Business.

Nãzanin was a support act for Canadian artist Massari for his 2006 Sydney concert and since then she has performed at various clubs and events around Sydney including the Diamond Bar, Collingwood Hotel, Café Carnivale (Musica Viva), Mocean Bar and the Auburn Festival 2008.  She also lent her vocals to the 2007 short film A Better Tomorrow.

Her musical love and interest expands beyond theory and performance. She is also a qualified radio broadcaster with her own weekly R&B/hip-hop show The Early Bird on 89.3 2GLF FM.

Having surrounded herself with many different cultures growing up, Nãzanin found her influences from various musical genres and artists from around the world. Through listening to all styles of music, she has now created a distinct sound of her own.

Nãzanin’s first major video single Gypsy is an international hit on Youtube (watch) and she has recorded a number of her other very different songs as a follow-up!

Her single will be launched officially at a sparkling debut gig at The Factory Theatre, Marrickville, on Saturday 10 October. Performing with a 15-piece band, backing singers and dancers Nãzanin will also have a strong support line-up. Audience members will also receive free copies of the disc with every ticket.
