POSTED: 26 JULY 2009 The Ten Sopranos tour Australia for CD launch* To promote their new CD, The Ten Sopranos are currently touring Australia for the very first time. Featuring Australia’s own Penny Pavlakis, The Ten Sopranos deliver a varied repertoire of operatic favourites and popular songs including Nessum Dorma, La Donna Mobile, The Brindisi, Amigos Para Sempre, New York New York, You Raise Me Up, Oh Danny Boy and many other favourites. The tour includes Parramatta's Riverside Theatres on Saturday 29 August. Vocally exciting, artistically clever and visually breathtaking, the ten women with exquisite voices will take to the stage with a popular repertoire. The songs have been musically arranged to suit the versatility and diversity of the Ten Sopranos’ individual talents. “Through our interpretation we invite you to be a part of the most intimate expression of human life ... the gift of music,” said Penny Pavlakis. The Ten Sopranos include some of the most gifted contemporary Australian singers directed by and featuring Penny Pavlakis. The Ten Sopranos also stars Joanna Powell, Grace Mason, Marissa Clare-Berzins, Nicole Pexiotto, Melanie McLeod, Elizabeth Farrant, Kylie Thomas, Rebecca Wallace and Mary Temple-Smith. The Ten Sopranos new self titled CD is arranged and directed by Penny Pavlakis. As a principal artist in major opera companies in Europe and Australia, the award-winning Pavlakis has worked with renowned artists including Baz Luhrmann, Max Lambert, Richard Bonynge and Dame Joan Sutherland.
