Talking Turkey about laws affecting same-sex couples*

As part of the 2009 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, Riverside Theatres, in Parramatta, will present Talking Turkey and Beyond, a seminar being held to highlight the changes in the laws affecting same sex couples and rainbow families.

During 2008 there were many changes to the laws, ultimately giving equal parenting and financial rights to same sex couples.

Issues to be discussed during Talking Turkey and Beyond include specific changes to the laws, how lesbian mums are recognised under the law, same-sex parenting, and the new rights and obligations for same sex couples.

Talking Turkey and Beyond will be held at Riverside Theatres on Monday March 2 at 7pm. The event is free.
