Unearth a Coonawarra Cellar Dweller*

Take a trip to Coonawarra during July and lose yourself in the Cellar Dweller Festival, a month-long wine experience where back vintages and old treasures are showcased for visitors to taste and buy.

Cellar Dwellers is being held for the ninth consecutive year, with 22 participating wineries. Special events span over the five weekends of July and are sure to please anyone who appreciates being spoiled.

The wines on offer are among Australia’s best and the festival offers the opportunity to buy Coonawarra wines that may never be seen on the shelves of stores again.

A few of the special events of this year’s program are:

Saturday, July 2 — The fifth annual Bowen Estate Symbiotic Siblings Dinner. Join chef Simon Bowen, Pipers of Penola, and winemaker Emma Bowen for a winter degustation dinner which has been paired with aged Bowen Estate wines.

Friday, July 8 — Italian Inspiration at DiGiorgio Family Wines. Join Frank DiGiorgio and family as Rita and Margo DiGiorgio prepare authentic Italian cuisine matched with new and aged DiGiorgio Family Wines … and maybe a bottle of Italian thrown in!

Saturday, July 15 and July 22 — Tempting Tapas & Tunes at Koonara Wines. Enjoy a laid-back evening of groovy sounds, great food and aged wines.

This year there are two exciting wine trails to experience. For the fourth consecutive year, join six southern Coonawarra wineries as they bring out their iconic wines on The Stars of the South Trail or try the new Terra Rossa Trail. Visit five wineries on the trail for a chance to win a prize.
