POSTED: 18 JUNE 2011 Coonawarra winemakers hit the road* Taste Coonawarra’s finest wines, meet Coonawarra’s most iconic winemakers and learn the stories behind the Coonawarra wineries, when the Coonawarra Vignerons hit the road for their annual road trip, stopping in six cities around Australia. Participating wineries include Balnaves of Coonawarra, Bowen Estate, Brand’s Laira Coonawarra, DiGiorgo Family Wines, Hollick Wines, Katnook Estate, Leconfield Coonawarra, Lindemans, Majella Wines, Penley Estate, Redman Wines, Rymill Coonawarra, Wynns Coonawarra Estate and Yalumba Coonawarra Estate and many more wineries. Venues are: Brisbane — Monday 15 August; Royal on the Park, Cnr Alice and Albert Street, Brisbane. Sydney — Tuesday 16 August; Sydney Town Hall, Lower Hall, Druit Street Entrance, Sydney. Canberra — Wednesday 17 August; Thoroughbred Park, Black Opal Room, Randwick Road, Lyneham. Melbourne — Thursday 18 August; Melbourne Town Hall; The Main Hall, Level 1, Cnr of Swanston & Collins Street, Melbourne. Adelaide — Monday 22 August; The Sebel Playford, 120 North Terrace, Adelaide. Perth — Wednesday 24 August; Pan Pacific Perth (formerly Sheraton Perth), 207 Adelaide Terrace, Perth. In each city, the tasting will run from 5pm to 8pm. Cost is $30 per person; pre-purchase of tickets preferred, cash at the door is also accepted.
