A coastal get-together for Orange High classmates from 1962–67

For nearly 10 years now, five Orange High School ex-students from the class of 1962–67 and their husbands have organised an annual get-together.

This year, the location — a huge house with a spectacular outlook over Fingal Bay, near Nelson Bay, just north of Newcastle — was chosen by Patti (nee Purcill) and her husband, Ian Moss, who live in Greenpoint, near Gosford.

As usual, they have been joined by: Zilla (nee Press) and Ray Harris, from Geebung, Queensland; Pam (nee Mackenzie) and George Keil, from Port Lincoln, South Australia; Jeanne (nee Griffin) and Bob Bishop, from Bowral, NSW; and Judy (nee Charters) and Graham Wythes, from Brisbane.

Bob Bishop, incidentally, is also an Orange High ex-student, having completed studies there a couple of years earlier as part of the last batch of Leaving Certificate students before the place was totally overrun by the “Wyndham bunnies”.

Last Sunday, the group was joined for lunch by three others from the Orange High 1962–67 cohort — Sandra Burn White and John Rozentals, who live at Liberty Grove in Sydney’s Inner-West, and Bev (nee Muir) and Richard Blackburn, who own the post office at Wangi Wangi, on Lake Macquarie.
